In line with the new governments guidelines,  and as a non essential business, we will be closed from November 5th, and will re-open when we are given instructions to do so, hopefully this will be only for the 4 weeks that has be announced at this this.

We will still be taking phone calls, and will be answering our emails with regards to weddings that are booked already with us, and any future bookings.

Sunday June 14th

To all our customers.

As of 15th June, we will be opening our doors again.
We will be operating on a strict appointment basis only, so if you wish to come in to view, and try on wedding suits, please call for an appointment first.
We have strict social distancing guidelines in our store, to keep you,  and our staff safe, and there is hand sanitizer available for you to use.
We are asking all of our customers who wish to try on suits, to please bring their own shirts and shoes.

Wednesday 20th May

To All Our Customers

We are now taking appointments for 2020 Weddings.

If you’re getting married this year, and still have not organised your suits. Or have already booked suits with us, and still need to get your groomsmen fitted, we are now taking appointments.

Due to social distancing we have made some changes to our normal routine, so we now have a staggered approach to suit fittings.

1. We only need to see the Bride and Groom first, and will ask for the groom to bring his own white shirt and shoes to his initial fitting, we do hire and sell these items, and they can be ordered to be collected a few weeks before the wedding.

2. Any further appointments will initially be for 2 groomsmen to be fitted at a time, and again we are asking for customers to bring their own shirts and shoes, if you wish us to supply these items, we will take details at the fittings.

4. If you have an elderly or shielded member of the family that requires a suit for your wedding, please supply us with their measurements, you can then take a suit to them to try on at their home. You can then let us know what alterations you think are needed.

5. When further information is released by the government regarding social distancing, we will update these guidelines.

Dear Customers,
When we reopen we will only have one appointment in the shop at any one time for all viewings and fittings. This is to protect both our staff and customers. Just the Bride and Groom first, then further appointments for the men and boys. You are more than welcome to take photos and Facetime whilst in the shop.
We will be offering out of hours appointments hours, and will also have limited availability for Sunday appointments.

Good morning,

Following yesterdays announcement by the government in relation to COVID-19,  for the next few weeks we can confirm that Cookham Formal Hire will be closed.

Any appointments booked whilst our shop is closed have been cancelled, and we will be continuing to work from home, if you wish to contact us please phone 01628 526222  0r email

We will be more than happy to answer any questions couples may have during this difficult time relating to the postponement of their wedding or speak with new couples who are planning their wedding for later this year, or into 2021, and who were unable to visit us while the shop was open.

We can also provide advice on self-measurement for those who have weddings who will not be able to be measured in the coming weeks due to the current situation, and are more than happy to help customers measure over video call.

As we stated in our last update, any couple whose wedding has had to be postponed can contact us regarding re-arrangement. There will be no additional charges, no changes in price, and your order will be honoured in it’s entirety for your new wedding date.

We recognise these are exceptionally difficult times for everyone, and heartbreaking for couples whose who have planned weddings, and are  having to postponed through no fault of their own.

All of us at Cookham Formal Hire want to do everything in our power to assist, and ensure that we are here to answer questions that might arise as a result of this situation.
